Vienna

Vienna has enough markets to fill a long weekend: Rathausplatz from 13 November to 26 December 2026, Schönbrunn Palace until 6 January 2027, and smaller ones at Spittelberg and the Belvedere. Add a concert and a coffee house afternoon. Read our Vienna market guide.

Prague

Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square run from 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, daily 10:00 to 22:00, so you can visit after Christmas too. Food and hotels cost less than in Vienna or Munich. See our Prague guide.

Nuremberg

The Christkindlesmarkt runs from 27 November to 24 December 2026 with around 180 stalls on the Hauptmarkt. One night is enough for the market; stay two and add Rothenburg or Munich. Read our Nuremberg guide.

Strasbourg and Colmar

Strasbourg runs from 27 November to 24 December 2026 and Colmar from 23 November to 29 December. They are about 30 minutes apart by train, so one hotel works for both. See our Strasbourg guide and our Colmar guide.

Cologne

The cathedral market opens on 16 November 2026, earlier than most, and runs to 23 December. Several more markets are a short walk away in the old town and by the river. Read our Cologne guide.
