Creamfields Bag Policy and Prohibited Items

creamfields 2026

Getting the bag policy right before you travel prevents problems at the gate and, critically, at campsite search points on arrival. The official rules are published on creamfields.com and apply to both the campsite entry and the event arena.

Bag Size Rules

Into the event arena: All bags must be A4 size or smaller. According to the official Creamfields Terms and Conditions, any bag bigger than A4 will be confiscated. There is no facility to store prohibited or oversized items at the entrance — confiscated items are not returned. Day ticket holders may only bring a bag no bigger than an A4 piece of paper.

Into the campsite: No specific bag size limit applies to camping luggage, but all bags are searched on entry. Bring a rucksack rather than a wheeled suitcase — Daresbury is a field, and rolling luggage on grass is impractical.

What You Can Bring

Into the campsite (camping ticket holders):

  • Up to 24 cans of beer, cider, or other alcohol in cans (mixed varieties allowed, but maximum 24 total)
  • Up to 1 litre of spirits or wine in a plastic bottle — no glass
  • Food and non-alcoholic drink for personal use
  • Tents, sleeping gear, and standard camping equipment
  • Camping chairs (campsite only — not permitted in the event arena)

Into the event arena:

  • Bags no larger than A4
  • One sealed 500ml bottle of water or soft drink (day ticket holders); no alcohol
  • Personal medication

Prohibited Items at Creamfields 2026

The following items are prohibited across the entire Creamfields site, confirmed from the official prohibited items list on creamfields.com:

  • Glass of any kind — this includes perfume bottles, foundation bottles, aftershave, and mirrors, not just drinks. All glass is prohibited without exception.
  • Kegs or commercial quantities of alcohol
  • Nitrous oxide (nos/laughing gas)
  • Drones or remote-controlled aircraft
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Flares and pyrotechnics
  • Large speakers above the permitted size
  • Open fires and disposable barbecues
  • Gazebos and large shelters
  • Alcohol in the event arena (campsite rules do not apply once inside the arena)

There is no facility to leave prohibited items at the gate and collect them later. If you arrive with prohibited items, they will be confiscated and not returned. Check everything before you leave home.

From 2026, all tickets are digital. You will need the Official Creamfields App to access your ticket. There are no paper tickets or physical wristbands sent in advance — wristbands are issued on arrival.

Campsite Passes (No Pass-Out Policy)

There is a strict no-pass-out policy at Creamfields. Once security scans your ticket at the festival entrance, you cannot leave and re-enter the event. Organizers permit re-admission from the event arena back into the campsite during event opening times, but leaving the festival site entirely means you forfeit your access.

How to Get to Creamfields 2026 from Liverpool and Manchester

Daresbury Estate sits in Halton, Cheshire, roughly equidistant between Liverpool (approximately 18 miles) and Manchester (approximately 20 miles). It is not directly served by rail, so the practical route for most people combines a train to a nearby station with the official shuttle bus to the site.

Warrington Bank QuayAvanti West Coast, CrossCountryShuttle bus from Warrington
RuncornNorthern Rail, AvantiShuttle bus from site (return-only service — no inbound buses from Runcorn)

Warrington Central is the most convenient station for most visitors. It sits on the Liverpool–Manchester TransPennine route, and Northern Rail serves it, allowing passengers to reach it directly from both city centres without changing trains.

  • From Liverpool Lime Street, the journey to Warrington Central takes approximately 35–40 minutes.
  • From Manchester Piccadilly, it takes approximately 45–55 minutes via Warrington Central.
  • From Liverpool John Lennon Airport: Take the bus to Liverpool South Parkway station, then the train to Warrington Central, then the shuttle bus to the festival.
  • From Manchester Airport: Take the train directly to Warrington Central (approximately 30 minutes) then the shuttle bus to the site.

Trains on the Warrington Bank Quay line will be busier than usual from Thursday 27 to Monday 31 August. Leave extra time and expect queuing at station platforms.

Official Shuttle Buses to Creamfields 2026

Creamfields operates official shuttle buses from three locations: Liverpool, Manchester, and Warrington.

ManchesterStand EM, The Hive, Lever StreetOpen return tickets must be pre-booked; day-of tickets not available for the Manchester-to-festival direction

All shuttle tickets are sold as return tickets with separate services for each day. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster’s travel section — pre-book for the best prices and to guarantee a seat.

The Manchester shuttle is the exception to the on-the-day option. You must pre-book tickets from Manchester to the festival. On departure (returning from the festival to Manchester), you can purchase tickets on the day from the Shuttle Bus Box Office at the Transport Hub near the North Entrance.

Travelling by Car

The festival postcode is WA4 4AF, but Creamfields strongly advises against using sat-nav due to road closures around the site. Follow dedicated festival road signage, which crews set up in advance across the local road network. You must pre-book car parking in advance via the festival website — organizers set the pre-book deadline for Thursday 14 August 2026 (international bookings by Thursday 7 August). You cannot book parking on the day. Silver and Gold tickets, as well as Dreamfields accommodation, include free parking.

Big Green Coach: Official Coach Partner

Big Green Coach is the official and exclusive coach travel partner for Creamfields, operating services from over 50 UK locations including Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Bradford, Bournemouth, Leeds, Sheffield, and many more. Coaches are carbon neutral. Group bookings of nine or more seats qualify the lead booker for 50% off their own seat. Book via the official Creamfields website or directly at biggreencoach.co.uk.

Luggage Storage Liverpool and Manchester for Creamfields

If you’re coming from outside the North West — flying into Liverpool John Lennon or Manchester Airport, arriving by rail, or stopping in either city before heading to Daresbury — there are hours to fill between arriving and getting to the festival site.

Carrying a full four-day festival kit around Liverpool or Manchester while you wait for your shuttle time is not a good use of anyone’s energy. Radical Storage has luggage storage locations across both cities, near train stations and city centre areas, open every day. Drop your bags, see the city, and pick everything up when you’re ready to head to Warrington.

All bags stored with Radical Storage are covered by included insurance. Booking takes under two minutes and locations are open seven days a week.

Camping at Creamfields 2026: What to Know

Campsite Rules and Timing

The Pre-Pitch campsite opens at noon on Thursday 27 August and closes at noon on Monday 31 August 2026. Standard camping follows the same timeline. Camping chairs are permitted in the campsites but not inside the event arena.

What to Pack for Creamfields

Cheshire in late August can deliver sunshine, warmth, cold nights, and heavy rain within the same weekend. Pack for all of it:

  • Waterproof tent and groundsheet
  • Warm sleeping bag and roll mat or airbed
  • Wellies and trainers — bring both
  • Waterproof jacket, warm layers for overnight
  • Lightweight day bag for the arena — must fit within A4 dimensions
  • Portable phone charger and a torch or head torch
  • Earplugs — available at the on-site camping shop; highly recommended
  • Reusable bottle — free water points operate across the festival site
  • Personal medication in original packaging

Organizers do not permit gazebos due to space limitations. Organizers also prohibit open fires and disposable barbecues.

Food, Drink and Payments

Campers may bring alcohol into the campsite within the limits set out above (24 cans and 1 litre of spirits in plastic, no glass). Organizers prohibit outside alcohol or food in the event arena. Security permits standard ticket holders to bring one sealed 500ml bottle of water or soft drink into the arena.

Most bars, food stalls, and merchandise stands accept contactless card payments. Vendors do not expect cash as the primary payment method, but you should bring a small amount as backup in case of technical issues. There is a Click and Collect Camping Supplies service available — pre-order before arrival at creamfields.com.

Final Thoughts

The 20th anniversary at Daresbury is genuinely the occasion Creamfields has been building towards — a lineup that spans every corner of electronic music, a site that has had two decades to get the logistics right, and 80,000 people who know what they’re there for. The practicalities are straightforward once you know them: get your shuttle ticket sorted (especially from Manchester, which requires pre-booking), check your bag dimensions before you pack your arena kit, leave all glass at home, and sort luggage storage in Liverpool or Manchester if you’re passing through. Everything else — the music, the stages, the Steel Yard at 3am — takes care of itself.
