Few cities in the world are as fascinating as Split, that's the reason why this city is a must-see if you are traveling to Dalmatia! Split is renowned for the amazing Diocletian's Palace, the Cathedral of St. Doimo, the Mestrovic Gallery, and the Port. Since 1970, Split's Old Town has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Moreover, in Split, you'll find breathtaking beaches where you can lose yourself if you have planned a journey along the Split-Dalmatian region in summer.
Diocletian's Palace is certainly the most important attraction in the whole city. More than a palace, it is a structure with buildings, streets, and a beautiful courtyard overlooking the sea. It was built by order of the Roman Emperor, between 293 and 305. Nowadays, this is one of the best-preserved Roman architectural monuments in Croatia.
Just like you, many tourists have asked some questions before going to the city or during their stay. Here are the most popular.
Two days are enough. You can spend one day to visit the most important monuments and the second day to go to the beach.
Split and Dubrovnik are not very close. The two cities are about 230 kilometers away. If you have rented a car, it will take you 3 hours to get from one city to the other.
If you want to rent a transfer to go from Split to Dubrovnik you will spend about €180-200. The cost increases if you need a van.
