The station is served by the Spanish national rail network, Renfe, providing various train services. It operates high-speed AVE, regional trains, and long-distance trains that connect Alicante with other major cities like Madrid, Murcia, Valencia, Barcelona, and beyond.

The Alicante Terminal train station was built in 1858, and the old façade was entirely renovated between 1967 and 1968. Nowadays, Alicante Railway Station is modernized and offers modern facilities and a variety of services, including restrooms, refreshment bars and gift shops, for a comfortable traveler experience.

Alicante Train Station’s central location is perfect for exploring the city and its attractions like Santa Barbara Castle, Explanada de España, and the vibrant Old Town (known as El Barrio), easily accessible by foot or local transportation.
