Safe luggage storage in Edinburgh during the Fringe

You have dreamt for years to go to the Fringe Festival but now you are there with a large suitcase by your side, not knowing where to leave it because all luggage storage locations in Edinburgh are at capacity.

I can imagine that many times you found yourself in front of a local business wondering if the owner could store your heavy backpack somewhere in his/her shop, but at the end of this daydream, you realized that it wasn’t possible.

My experience as a traveler before knowing the Angels

Since I’ve traveled a lot just like you, I faced the same problem and I understand your feelings.

Frequently, I’ve found myself in a long queue at the airport or train stations just to be informed that the luggage storage office had absolutely no space for my suitcase.

Other times, I thought I’d use the lockers. These compartments have an hourly rate that is anything but cheap! Also, I wondered if they were safe because they are not supervised.

Maybe you still don’t know that things have changed throughout the years! Nowadays, finding luggage storage in Edinburgh or near a train station is something that you don’t have to dream about!

You can enjoy your days at the Fringe until the very end thanks to Radical Storage, the first luggage storage network!

Radical Storage partners up with local businesses and shops that want to turn their empty or unused spaces into supervised areas to keep your luggage safe.

Booking a place for your baggage at one of the several Radical Storage spots – called Angels – is easy and efficient.

Low-cost luggage storage in Edinburgh near Waverley, Haymarket and in the city centre.

I came across Radical Storage one year ago while I was waiting for a train at Waverley. My train to London was departing in a few hours and I had a large suitcase with me. I wanted to go somewhere hands-free, have a coffee or just walk once more through those streets.

The idea of dragging the burden of my luggage from one point to another almost drove me crazy so I decided to open Google and look for a way to solve my problem.

Typing the words “deposito bagagli Edimburgo”, that in English means luggage storage Edinburgh, I couldn’t believe what I found!

Entering the Radical Storage website, I immediately found a place near me to store my luggage at an affordable price of £5 a day per bag. The reservation was quick and easy, I was able to do it from the phone directly.

I didn’t have to print any documents, just reach the address indicated in the confirmation e-mail and leave the luggage.

Ok, I used that luggage storage because I had a few hours before departure and it was actually very close to the train station, but I noted that Radical Storage had locations all over the city, such as near the Museum of Edinbugh, the Portrait Gallery, Canongate and many more!

Why going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

But let’s talk about the Fringe Festival now!

Did you know that the Fringe is the biggest festival of arts and culture in the world? It happens every August in the city of Edinburgh and lasts three weeks!

There could be no better place than Edinburgh to host this celebration because it’s simply a colorful and interesting city, rich in history and culture.

During August, Scotland’s capital doubles its population and welcomes thousands of artists from all over the planet!

Perhaps a huge festival like this could be imagined as a sort of nightmare for those who don’t like overcrowded places, but I am sure that even if you rather visit a calm beach in New Zealand, you will definitely enjoy this celebration!

Surely, you won’t change your mind about quiet places, but you will start to appreciate the meaning of immersing yourself in a waterfall of art, people, and positive energy!

There are thousands of reasons to reach Edinburgh while Fringe takes place, the first one is linked to its numbers! I will mention a few of them to make you understand proportions: in 2017 there were 3,398 shows in 300 venues and amounts of 53,232 performances -I took this data from the official website of the festival.

Shows are for every taste, so don’t mind if you haven’t a master’s degree in Science of Theater or the only thing you do in life is watching Netflix series! I am sure you’ll find an artist -or more of one to adore!

Fringe is not only about theatre, but also about music, comedy, circus, cabaret, dance, physical theatre, children’s shows, musicals, opera, spoken word, and events.

Now that you know a bit more of the most important Edinburgh Festival you can understand that stowing luggage is fundamental!

Finding a left-luggage service is not enough, you need to store your belongings safely out of sight. That’s why I strongly recommend using Radical Storage! It’s secure and has locations active 24/7.
