A very old city
The first evidence of the existence of Krakow dates back to the 17th century, but this does not exclude that its foundation may even be older. Ancient Krakow was a large Bohemian commercial hub that was unfortunately destroyed during the Tatarean invasions. At the beginning of the XVII century, it also lost the title of the capital city of Poland and faced a period of great decline.
Nowadays, the Old Town shows different architectural styles (Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque) and hosts the largest medieval square in Europe: Market Square. Moreover, in the Old Town, you will find Saint Mary's Basilica (Polish: Kościół Mariacki) and the majestic Cathedral of Wavel.
Schindler's factory
Even if you're not a Steven Spielberg fan, We are sure you have watched Schindler's List at least once. Well, the idea for the film was born after Spielberg read the book by the Australian writer Thomas Keneally that tells the story of a factory at 4 Lipowa Street. Oskar Schindler, the founder of this factory, managed to save more than 1000 Jews from deportation. Nowadays, in the same building, there is a very famous museum!
