About Cheonjiyeon Water Falls
Cheonjiyeon Falls also recognized as “The Pond of God" is one of the must-see natural wonders of Jeju Island, located near Seogwipo-do in the south end of the island. The word ‘Cheonjiyeon’ translates to "Sky Connected with Land," referring to the idea of the heavens connecting to the earth through the waterfall.
The 22-meter iconic waterfall widens as its crystal-clear waters fall down the rocks. Local mythology says the seven fairies of heaven bathed at the waterfall. There is a well-maintained trail leading to the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall that allows visitors to enjoy a leisurely hike through the beautiful Jeju landscape.
Several viewpoints come along the way that offer breathtaking views of the waterfall and the surrounding cliffs. The Cheonjiyeon waterfall hours are from 9:00 am to 5: 30 pm. Tourists can take a bus to the Yeomiji Botanical Garden bus stop, from where it’s about a 7-minute walk to the Cheonjiyeon Falls entrance.
