Every year, Paris and its Philharmonic promote the Lunar New Year with grand concerts and showcases dedicated to this holiday, in order to celebrate the excellence of Chinese culture and music.

For the previous year, the city of Paris has decided to celebrate the 2021 Lunar New Year with a grand Chinese New Year concert, featuring the Chinese Orchestra of the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, conducted by Muhai Tang. During these celebrations, the Orchestra has presented a few examples of Chinese musical traditions all over the millennia.

For the 2025 Lunar New Year, Paris has already started to organize some events, following the Chinese New Year traditions, in order to start the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse, in a dashing style! The festivities will include New Year celebrations such as New Year parades, lion and dragon dances, entertainment, and gastronomy, up until February 16th, 2025.
